The experienced centre back becomes Huddersfield's second signing of the window.
Huddersfield Town have signed experienced centre back Richard Stearman.
Aged 32, Stearman has experience with the likes of Leicester, Fulham, Wolves and Sheffield United, who agreed to mutually terminate the Englishman's contract on Friday in order to facilitate the move.
He's been handed an 18-month contract, which will keep him at the John Smiths until at least the end of next season.
Terriers boss Danny Cowley said: “He was a key component of creating an outstanding culture at Sheffield United and he’ll provide a fantastic example for our young professionals day in and day out."
