The 49 year old is in Leeds General Infirmary after the accident which happened as he was crossing Neville Street in the early hours of this morning.
Police in Leeds are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in which a 49-year-old man was seriously injured.
The man, from Baildon, was crossing Neville Street in the city centre near to its junction with Sovereign Street at about 12.10am today (17/12) when he was involved in a collision with a black and white Toyota Avensis Hackney carriage.
The vehicle was travelling down Neville Street in the direction of Beeston at the time. The driver stopped at the scene.
The injured man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where his condition is described as critical but stable.
