Christmas Road Safety Campaign Warns Of Drink Driving

A Bradford road safety campaign is being used to warn people in West Yorkshire of drink driving over the festive period.

The Morning After Calculator, released by Road Safety teams in Yorkshire, explains how long the effects of a drink take to wear off before you can drive again. For example, drinking 5 large bottles of beer means you have to wait 16 hours before being able to legally drive again.

Sue Snoddy, manager of Bradford's Road Safety team told The Pulse, "1 in 6 drivers convicted of drink driving were caught the morning after, not the same evening.

"Think about when you're going to drive next because it does take several hours for drinks to get out of your system."
