Council Wins Grant To Create Warmer Homes

£200,000 for the Bradford area from the Government\'s Warm Homes Healthy People fund.

City bosses in Bradford have won a £200,000 grant to create warmer homes and boost the health of vulnerable people in the area.

The Council submitted the bid to the Government's Warm Homes Healthy People fund in partnership with other local voluntary and statutory organisations to improve public health.

The central government fund will reduce the levels of death and serious illness which can increase in damp housing.

Cllr Amir Hussain, the Council's Executive Member Adult and Community Services, said: "We already have an excellent support network that we tap into in the Bradford area and this money will help us build on those relationships to provide practical help to those who most need it."
