FBU Condemn Bradford Firefighter Attacks

The union say something needs to be done- after workers were pelted with stones.

The Fire Brigades Union have spoken out after another shocking attack on firefighters, trying to put out a blaze in Bradford.

The crew were tackling the fire in Buttershaw on Monday night when they had stones thrown at them by a gang of teenagers in Blackshaw Urban Park.
Dave Williams, chairman of the Yorkshire branch of the FBU says "I wouldn't want to see people avoid being tranferred into Bradford because of the fear of these attacks- but I can see that ending up happening if we don't get a grip of it."

"We can't have a police car following us all the time- but we could have them brought into incidents in a higher risk area."

"Firefighters join the job because they care about people."
