Fire crews tackle moorland blaze in Keighley

Crews attended the scene at 10.45pm last night.

West Yorkshire's fire crews have been dealing with a moorland blaze in Keighley overnight.

Firefighters utilised beaters, wildlife support units and an Argocat to tackle the fire near Cragg Bottom Road in Oldfield.

In a statement the service said: "This incident proved to be a Moorland Fire involving approximately 75 square metres of heather/moorland."

"Crews used Beaters, Aqua Backpacks, Hose Reels, a Wildfire Fogging Unit and Argo Cat. A Specialist Wildfire Officer and Incident Commander also attended the incident.

"We still have Crews in attendance the Hose Laying Unit has now returned to Station."

The blaze is now contained and under control.
