Football Stars In Halifax For Eric Harrison's Funeral

He is the former Manchester United coach credited with nurturing the famous ‘Class of 92’.

A number of football stars were in Halifax on Tuesday.

They attended the funeral of former Manchester United coach Eric Harrison, which was being held at the town's Minster.

Harrison - who was born in Mytholmroyd - is credited with rearing of the famous ‘Class of 92’ at Old Trafford. He died last week at the age of 81.

As a player, he played nearly 200 games for Halifax Town.

Former United player and coach Brian Kidd told Pulse 1 & Pulse 2: "Words can't describe what Eric did for football. It is a really sad day."

And Nicky Butt, part of that famous 'Class of 92', added: "He helped us be the people we are now. The biggest thing I can say is that he made us hardworking men who knew how to be humble.

David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Gary Neville were among those at Halifax Minister.

Former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson delivered the eulogy for Harrison.
