A statement from the SU is expected later today.
Students at the University of Huddersfield are calling for Prince Andrew to resign as Chancellor.
The Duke of York is under increasing pressure after he defended his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in a TV interview.
Since the interview, the Huddersfield Student Union has passed a motion which will lobby for Prince Andrew to resign.
They are expected to put out a statement by the end of the day and are also making an action plan.
Students are expressing their views using the hashtag #NotMyChancellor on Twitter.
Prince Andrew still having a position of power and status at @HuddersfieldUni after the facts have been revealed and allegations against him made just proves that we are not yet equal. No one should be immune from consequences #NotMyChancellor— Tristan Oscar Smith 🌈🦇 (@tristanoscars) November 18, 2019
'He did not regret his friendship with Epstein because of "the opportunities I was given to learn" from him about trade and business' Giving you business tips and tricks doesn't change the fact that he was an actual paedophile and sex trafficker #PrinceAndrew #notmychancellor— han (@hanleeder) November 18, 2019
