3,000 to be planted on Colne Bank from today.
The first phase of a 3,000 tree planting scheme in Huddersfield begins today.
A team of volunteers are digging up Colne Bank, as part of an initiative to create new forests across West Yorkshire.
It's all to both reduce the region's carbon footprint, and make new woodlands for future generation's to enjoy.
Julian Brown from Kirklees Council's Streetscene will be leading the activity. He said: "It's great to see everyone coming together to improve the natural environment."
"The trees planted here will grow into woodland for future generations to enjoy."
