Jobs At Risk As Bradford-Based Priceless Stores Close

Eighteen stores in the shoe shop chain Barratts Priceless will shut before Christmas.

Bradford based employer, Barratts Priceless, have announced huge job losses after collapsing into administration for the second time in two years.

Eighteen stores will close on Friday resulting in the loss of 127 jobs, with a further 43 staff members in the head office in Apperley Bridge also made redundant.

Some 3,840 jobs are at risk if a buyer cannot be found to rescue the Barratts and Priceless Shoes stores.

The retailer has blamed weak trading and the unseasonably warm weather for poor sales of its winter lines.

The group currently trades from 191 Barratts and Priceless Shoes stores, plus 371 concessions, mainly in Arcadia Group and Debenhams stores.
