Drivers can look forward to a clearer run to work now that work on two busy junctions in West Yorkshire has been completed.
The major schemes, which started last year, will reduce congestion on the M62 roundabouts and slip roads at junction 27 for Gildersome and junction 28 at Tingley.
At junction 28, the westbound exit slip road has been extended from three lanes to four, while the eastbound slip road has been widened to three lanes.
It comes just weeks after the improvements at junction 27 were finished, which saw westbound exit slip roads from the M62 and M621 increased to three lanes to provide extra room on the southern roundabout.
Highways England project manager Esref Ulas said: “The completion of these major schemes will improve safety and ease congestion for drivers who use these busy junctions.
“We’ve addressed the important issue of congestion which had an impact on drivers, and I want to thank people for their patience.”
By improving traffic flows and reducing congestion the upgrades will reduce emission levels, boosting air quality.
