All but one of West Yorkshires attacks on firefighters happened in the Bradford District.
Of the eight firefighter attacks on Bonfire night reviewed, seven occurred in Bradford.
One incident saw the fire crew surrounded by a gang of youths twenty strong. The youths then launched fireworks at the crew.
There were dozens of reports of arson on top of the attacks on emergency services as well as the calls of out of control bonfires.
Extra resources are put in place for the Bonfire period, costing taxpayers nearly thirty-two-thousand which dropped over fifty-thousand from last year.
There was a significant difference in incidents where firefighters were called. 482 in 2018 dropped to 270 in 2019.
Despite nine attacks being investigated the review concluded “This year is considered a success”.
They contributed this in part to the collaboration with West Yorkshire Police.
