Two further arrests have been made this weekend after an incident in Bradford City Centre where a 15 year old boy was assaulted.

The violent attack happened around 4pm on Sunday 24th February in City Park, and soon went viral after being recorded by passers-by.

The two 16 year old boys have since been released under investigation, with the victim and his family being supported as enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police has said “Police would like to advise that contrary to social media reports the victim is of Asian ethnicity and following further investigation into the circumstances can now confirm that the assault was not hate-motivated. Violence will not be tolerated and such incidents will be fully investigated, so appropriate action can be taken against the perpetrators.”

Anyone who can assist with information are encouraged to contact the Bradford City Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101, quoting crime reference 13190100781.
