Police in Bradford investigate arson on young boy's grave

Police are appealing to the public to come forward if they have any information.

Police have issued an appeal for information following an incident where ornaments on a grave were damaged by fire.

A plaque, blanket and a flag were damaged in the incident at Scholemoor Cemetery in Bradford, which is being investigated by Bradford District CID as arson.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 10.30pm on Thursday 26th March and 10.30am on Friday 27th March.

Detective Inspector Mark Taylor, of Bradford District CID, said:

“The family of the deceased were very upset to find damage to their son’s resting place, having lost him suddenly at a young age.

“We have carried out a number of enquiries to identify those responsible and are now appealing to the public to come forward if they have any information which may assist us in progressing this investigation, so we can bring some comfort to the grieving family of this young man.”
