Beyake Keita Ann was assaulted in Attock Park three years ago.

A fresh appeal for information has been made on the third anniversary of an incident of violent disorder which resulted in the death of a man from Bradford.

Beyake Keita Ann was just 21 when he was assaulted in Attock Park, Laisterdyke on Tuesday, 23 August 2016.

He and his friends were playing football in the park at around 8pm, when they were attacked by a group of males.

Beyake suffered serious head injuries from which he never recovered and sadly died in hospital three weeks later.

Following his death police launched a murder investigation which led to the arrest of more than 20 males. This inquiry is continuing and a number of suspects remain on bail.

Today (23/8) there will be the annual community event in memory of Beyake in Attock Park between 11am and 5pm.

This will feature an under 16s five-a-side football tournament, activities for children and information stalls.

Officers from the Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team will also be in attendance and a big screen in the park will also be showing information about the appeal with a message to the community from Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Ian Scott.

DCI Scott, said: "Three years have now passed since Beyake was brutally attacked and his family are still desperate to know why this happened and who was responsible.”

“We are just as committed to getting the justice they deserve and are continuing to seek for the answers to these questions.

“We continue to believe they will be found in the local community and we again urge anyone who has information which may assist our enquiries to contact us.

“You can report it anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers either by calling 0800 555111 or using the anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org, or you can contact my team on 101, quoting crime reference 13160363829.”
